Obituary: Cecil Lee Compton, 69. dies in Greensburg

Mr. Compton was a native of Adair County, a retired baker, and of the Baptist faith

Cecil Lee Compton, 69, 2546 Hodgenville RD, Greensburg, KY, Sunday, April 1, 2007, at 12:30pm CT, at his residence after an illness.The funeral will be Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at 1:00pm CT, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Robert Knight officiating.



A native of Adair County, he was a son of the late Arlin Lee and Creo Roach Compton, was of the Baptist faith and was a retired after a career at Butternut Bakery.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Timothy Compton, Louisville, KY; and Russell Compton, Hope IN

  • Two daughters: Tina Marlene Catlett, Corydon, IN; and Angela Miller, Hope, IN

  • Three brothers: William Haold Compton, Campbellsville, KY; Hershel Thomas Compton and James Allen Compton, Columbus, IN

  • Five sisters: Sophia Henderson, Indianapolis, IN; Edna Ozella Mayes, Columbus, IN; Viola Osborne, Campbellsville, KY; Leo Bartley, Lexington, KY; and Nordine Wilkins, Elizabethtown, KY
  • And nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren
Visitation will be after 10:00am, Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY.
