Obituary: Joy Cowan, 55, member Charity Baptist Church

Mrs. Cowan was a member of a respected Green River family and a retired Fruit of the Loom employee

Joy Cowan, 55, 5471 Campbellsville RD, Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at 9:00pm CT, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Friday, March 30, 2007, at 1:00pm at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Terry White officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery.



She was a daughter of the late Forrest and Bernice Renfro Parker, a member of Charity Baptist Church, and was retired from Fruit of the Loom.Survivors include her husband, J.D. Cowan, Columbia, and the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Bradley Caldwell, Columbia, KY

  • One brother and sister-in-law, Don and Diann Parker, Louisville, KY
  • Two sisters and brothers-in-law: Shirley and Vince Pfefferman, and Karen and Robert Hamlett, all of Columbia, KY

  • One granddaughter: Brianna Caldwell

  • Two nieces and one nephew: Kim Akin, Susan Pfefferman, and Michael Hamlett

  • One great-niece: Shelby Akin
Visitation will be after 4:00pm CT, Thursday, March 29, 2007.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
