Obituary: Flossie Hamlett, 74, member, Jones Chapel UMC

Mrs. Hamlett the head of a prominent Gradyville family and a 36 year employee of Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY

Flossie Hamlett, 74, 7105 Edmonton RD, Columbia, KY (the Gradyville Community), died Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at 1:15pm CT, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.

The funeral service will be Saturday, December 16, 2006, at 1:00pm CT, at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church with Bro. Ronnie Dooley the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00pm CT, Friday, December 15, 2006, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY.



She was a daughter of the late J.O. and Dellie Rogers Parnell and the widow of Robert Hamlett.

Mrs. Hamlett was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church and was an employee of Summit Manor Nursing Home for 36 years.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Wanda Hatcher, Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Ricky Hamlett and Barry Hamlett, both of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Joseph Parnell, Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Lillian Coomer, Alice Sneed, and Pauline Sneed, all of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Angela Hourigan and Breanna Hatcher

  • And several nieces, nephews and many friends
Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
