Obituary: George W. Stotts, 77, Korean War veteran

Mr. Stotts leaves a large family. He was retired from General Electric in Louisville. He was a member of the Harrods Fork Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.

George W. Stotts, 77, 56 Willie's DR, Columbia, KY, passed away Monday, November 27, 2006, at 8:40pm, at Medco Center of Campbellsville, KY, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Thursday, November 30, 2006, at 1:00pm CT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY. Interment will be in Harrods Fork Cemetery. Visitation after 4:30pm CT, Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Rev. Joe Ervin and Cordia Campbell Stotts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy E. Hill Stotts, on May 12, 2003; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Palmer, on April 18, 1998; two brothers, Carlos D. Stotts and James Stotts; and two sisters, Millie C. Stotts andGladwyn Wilson.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Terry Lee Stotts and his wife Cheryl of Burlington, KY; and Robert E. Stotts and his wife Peggy of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two daughters: Donna Robbins and her husband Jeffrey, Scottsburg, IN;and Linda Tomes of McLean, VA

  • Three sisters: Ocella Corbin, Columbia, KY; Peggy Compton ofFlorida; and Mildred Murphy of Missouri

  • Eight grandchildren, eigth great grandchildren

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Stotts was a member of Harrods Fork Baptist Church. He was retired fromGeneral Electric in Louisville.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a Kentucky Colonel.
