Adair County Farmer's Market opens Friday, June 9 No charge for stalls for Adair County producers By David Herbst Adair CO Extension Agent for Agriculture The Adair County Farmers Market is opening for the season on Friday, June 9, 2006. The Farmers Market is held in the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service parking lot. The market will open every Tuesday and Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. At this time of the year vegetables that could be available are broccoli, cabbage, potatoes, peas, lettuce, squash and various plants and flowers. As the growing season continues, there will be more produce such as sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, melons and pumpkins. Any Adair County vegetable producer can participate Any vegetable producer can participate as a vendor, and there is no setup fee. The main guideline for vendors is that the produce must be grown in Adair County. As a consumer, if you are looking for the freshest produce you can find in Adair County, the Farmers Market is the place to look. Most of the items for sale have been harvested the night before they are sold, insuring the freshest product possible. Educational programs of the Cooperative Extension Service serve all people regardless of race, color, age, sex, religion, disability, or national origin. Adair County Extension Service, P.O.
