Jessie M. Wheet Hill, 87, dies in Somerset

Jessie M. Hill, 87, of Somerset passed away there on Tuesday, June 6, 2006. She was born on August 31, 1918 in the Chance community of Adair County, the daughter of the late Milton and Lena McIntire Wheet. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Local services will be at 2 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband of 67 years, Eddie Hill, whom she married on September 10, 1938 in Albany

  • One daughter, Joyce Morfey and husband, Tom of Somerset

  • A brother, Bobby C. Wheet and wife, Etha Mae of Columbia

  • A sister, Dimple Buck and husband, George of Campbellsville

  • Two grandsons, Dellmas Richards and wife, Linda of Monticello, and Douglas Richards and wife, Becky of Somerset

  • Six great grandchildren: Adam Richards and Dellmas Richards Jr., both of Hazel Hurst, GA., Megan and Mirand! a Richards of Somerset, Gabrielle Richards and Shawna Jasper, both of Monticello.

  • She was preceded in death by her parents a brother, Simpson Wheet and a sister, Racheal Huddleston.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 after 600 p.m. at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. EST, Thursday, June 8, 2006 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Cline officiating, then at 200 p.m. CST at the Grissom Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service.

Burial will be at the Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia.
