Elise Grant, 83, Glens Fork, KY; member Beech Grove Baptist

Ms. Grant was retired from Oshkosh, B'Gosh in Columbia, KY
Elsie Grant, 83, Glens Fork, KY, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2006, at 11:30 p.m., at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY, after an illness of several weeks duration.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Hershey Giles, Bro. Matt Cowan, and Bro. Jay Damron the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Grant Morrison Cemetery in Glens Fork, KY. The family requests visitation after 4:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2006, at the funeral home.


Elsie was member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church and was retired from Osh Kosh B'Gosh, in Columbia, KY

Ms. Grant was the daughter of the late Arthur and Clara Antle Grant of Glens Fork, KY.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four nieces: Norma Jean Jessie, and her husband, "Curly," of Columbia, KY; Iva Dean Collins and her husband, Bobby, Glens Fork, KY; Carolyn Bennett, Glens Fork, KY; and Anita Fletcher and husband, Billy, of Glens Fork, KY

  • One nephew: Darrell Grider and his wife, Phyllis, Glens Fork, KY

  • One special great niece: Nenia Dykes and husband, "Tangle," Columbia, KY

  • A special great nephew: Mike Crockett and wife, Pat, and daughter, Brittany, Lexington, KY

  • A special great great niece, Tina Price and her husband Adam, and son Justin, Columbia, KY

  • A special lifelong friend, Myna Thomas, Glens Fork, KY
Her cat Blackie was a beloved companion.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Grider, February 8, 2003.

The family request that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy be made to Beech Grove Baptist Church or the charity of their choice.
