40 years since Coomer's Restaurant graced the Square

Doug Beard writes, "Coomer's Restaurant closed its' doors in 1986 (40 years ago), after being in business on the Public Square for 43 years. I'm sure many of your readers will have fond memories of this 'dining institution' in our town."

Eighty-three years ago, in July of 1943 and during the midst of WWII, Coomer's Restaurant opened its doors. After serving delicious food for forty-three years, the family sold the restaurant in 1986 shortly after Mrs. Murphy passed away.
