Adair Hospital District granted permission to close

2026-06-25 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike of Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch.
Neal Gold, chairman of the Adair Hospital District, requested, and was granted permission by Fiscal Court Tuesday evening, to advertise dissolution of the entity now that Westlake Regional Hospital bankruptcy debt is paid in full and taxation has ceased. An audit will be done, final expenses paid, and then it is estimated over $800,000 will be turned over to the Court. A separate loan taken out by Fiscal Court before the bankruptcy has a balance of $300,000 which is expected to be paid off from the returns.
