Among the activities and demonstrations was a pine cone bird feeder station, and information on the Life Expectancy for Litter. Tossing out garbage can be a long-term decision. Common items include:
  • Chip bag: 10-20 years
  • Cigarette butt: 2-5 years
  • Diaper: 10-20 years
  • Orange peel: 6 months
  • Paper towel: 2-4 weeks
  • 6-pack ring: 450 years
  • Banana peel: 3-5 weeks
  • Plastic bottle: 450 years
  • Aluminum can: 250 years
William says, "There was a large crowd and a variety of informative booths, one with several electric vehicles."
