April proclaimed National County Government Month

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Adair County Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant proclaimed April 2026 as National County Government Month in Adair County, recognizing the hard work and dedication of all county employees, and encouraging all officials, employees, schools, and residents to participate in county government activities.

Proclamation: National County Government Month - April 2026
  • Whereas, the nation's 3,069 counties, serving more than 330 million Americans, provide essential services that contribute to healthy, safe, and vibrant communities; and

  • Whereas, counties deliver a wide range of services that impact nearly every aspect of residents' daily lives; and

  • Whereas, counties serve as vital intergovernmental partners, implementing local, state, and federal programs to meet the needs of all residents; and

  • Whereas, Adair County takes pride in protecting and enhancing the health, well-being, and safety of its residents in efficient and cost-effective ways; and

  • Whereas, as the United States commemorates 250 years of independence in 2026, counties continue a long tradition of public service; and

  • Whereas, since 1991, the National Association of Counties has encouraged counties to raise awareness of county government roles and services; and

  • Whereas, I, Adair County Judge/Executive Larry Russell Bryant, express deep appreciation for the dedicated employees of Adair County who serve daily-often with modest compensation and little recognition--across the Sheriff's Office, Regional Jail, 911 Dispatch and Emergency Management, Green River Animal Shelter, Judge/Executive's Office, PVA, Clerk's Office, Judicial Center, County Attorney's Office, Road Department, Recycling Center, and Litter Abatement and Class D programs, ensuring residents remain safe and well-served; and

  • Whereas, these individuals are more than employees-they are committed public servants and true everyday heroes of our community.
