New Principal named at Metcalfe County Elementary By Torrie Osbon, Communications Director EDMONTON, Ky. (March 12, 2026) - Metcalfe County Schools is proud to announce that Paige Crowe will be the next principal of Metcalfe County Elementary School. "I am beyond excited for this opportunity," Crowe said. "While I have cherished my last four years as the assistant principal at Metcalfe County High School, I am so looking forward to joining MCES." Crowe will assume her new position on July 1. Jamie Howard, who took over as interim principal after Michael Gill's retirement, will continue to serve through June. Superintendent Josh Hurt thanked Howard and the MCES Site-Based Decision Making Council for their work during the principal selection process. He said Crowe has all the qualities needed to succeed as the head principal of Metcalfe County Elementary School. Hurt said, "Through the selection process, it was evident that Mrs. Crowe brought the experience, the expertise, and the enthusiasm we were looking for in the next MCES principal. I feel confident that she will hit the ground running." Crowe said, "I've spent my time at the high school seeing exactly where our students finish their journey, and that experience has given me a deep appreciation for the foundation that is built at MCES. This position will allow me to be a part of that foundation. I'm deeply invested in our district and community's goals for our school system, and I am eager to apply my leadership at the elementary level to ensure our students start strong, stay on track, and develop a love for lifelong learning long before they reach the high school doors." Crowe is a 1997 graduate of Taylor County High School and a former teacher in Monroe and Russell Counties. She received her bachelor's degree in Music Education and her master's degrees in Educational Leadership and Library Media Education. She and her husband, Brad, are the proud parents of four children: Ellie (20), Nolan (18), LiviaJo (11), and Luke Fletcher (8). "I can't wait to work alongside our incredible teachers and staff, connect with our families, and help our youngest Hornets succeed every single day.
