Reminder: Bond can only be paid in person

By Sheriff Gary Roy
Adair County Sheriff's Office

I have received a couple of complaints from people that have had family members incarcerated in the Adair County Jail and someone is pretending to be an employee of the jail and is trying to get them to pay them cash for a bond, so the family members can get out of jail.

This is not true, this is a scam. I have spoken with Jailer Buddy Powell, and he stated the only way you can pay a bond is in person at the jail or at the courthouse.

Jailer Powell stated that jail staff will not call you and ask you to send money to anywhere for any reason. I'd like to remind you to never give any personal information out to anyone on the phone.
