Most Magistrate candidates face Primary opposition All but two of the candidates for Magistrate in 2026 already face primary opposition, according to the latest filings at the Secretary of State. Republican Chad Brown, running in District 5, is the lone unopposed Magistrate candidate in the Republican primary, while James E. Bennett, running for Magistrate in District 3, remains the only Democrat to file for any Adair County office so far.
