Candidate filing forms available online

The next Kentucky Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, and the next Kentucky General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, is the first date to file for office for 2026 Primary Election.

The Kentucky Secretary of State's web site has an online document system for prospective candidates, at web.sos.ky.gov/ElectionsDYC.

Forms are available for the following offices (not all will be contested in 2026): Circuit Judge, District Judge, Commonwealth's Attorney, Circuit Court Clerk, County Judge / Executive, County Clerk, County Attorney, Sheriff, Jailer, Coroner, Property Valuation Administrator, Surveyor, Magistrate / Justice of the Peace, County Commissioner, Constable, Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor, Mayor, City Legislative Body, and Board of Education (School Board Member).

Other candidate filing forms available from the Secretary of State's web site include President / Vice President, United States Senator, United States House of Representatives, Governor / Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Auditor of Public Accounts, State Treasurer, Commissioner of Agriculture, State Senator, State House of Representatives, Supreme Court Justice, and Judge of the Court of Appeals.
