Halloween night planning for tricks or treats

The rain will be leaving in time for a dry, if cold, Friday, October 31, 2025 Halloween evening. Two big events are scheduled for Columbia and there are several events out in the county. Be sure to check Columbia Magazine events on Friday for all the locations and details.

Treats on the Town start at Adair County Elementary School, 870 Indian Dr, Columbia, will be going on from 5pmCT to 7pmCT.

Safe Halloween at Lindsey Wilson University starts at 6pmCT and ends at 9 at the Holloway Health & Wellness Center, 299 Williams St., Columbia.

Around the county there are four more opportunities: Trunk or Treat at Cane Valley Christian Church; Bloomington Chapel Candy Market; Millerfield Brethren In Christ Church Candy Trail; and Trunk or Treat at Harrods Fork Baptist Church. Make it a safe and happy Halloween!

A cauldron of witches' brew for Halloween

This cool looking cauldron is set up as part of a witches display for Halloween. Pam Capozziello writes, "I found the plastic cauldron, a package of glow in the dark cobwebs, and a set of orange fairy lights for this project. I inserted the fairy lights inside the cobweb but let some show on the top - looks like hot coals burning and gives a wonderful effect with the witch display!"
