Littleton (L.J.) Goode, 78, WWII veteran

Adair native will be buried with military honors by Columbia VFW Post
Littleton (L.J.) Goode, 78, Lexington, KY, died Wednesday night, March 29, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

The funeral service is Saturday, April 1, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., at Grissom Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Patton officiating.


A native of Adair County, he was a son of the late Clarence and Nannie Hardin Goode and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Martin Goode of Lexington, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie and Jackie Goode, Columbia, KY; and Michael and Kim Goode, Nicholasville, KY

  • One brother and one sister: Marshall Goode and Opal Watson, both of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Capt. Ronnie Goode, II, USMC; Martin, Haley and Rachel Goode

  • One step-grandson: Zachary Taylor.
Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery with military honors presented by VFW Post 6097 of Columbia, KY.

Visitation will be after 12 noon Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST., Columbia, KY.

Grissom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
