Kentucky Color: I Challenge You By Billy Joe Fudge No! I'm not selling soap. In fact I covered the name of the company from whom I buy my soap. This is not only my soap, it is my shampoo as well. Red Dye #3, a suspected carcinogen for at least 4 decades, was banned from food in the United States yesterday. It was banned from cosmetics about 35 years ago but we have been eating it by the thousands of tons since then. Additionally and according to sources, over 10,000 additives are allowed in our food while less than 200 are allowed in most European countries. Consequently, and as an example, the citizens of Italy live around 7 years longer than do we in the United States. If Shakespeare was penning Hamlet today he would have written, "there is something rotten in the state of America"! Fifty years ago, a loaf of bread would mold within 4 or 5 days of bringing it home. Back last spring I found an unopened package of buns in the back of a drawer that had been there over a month that was as fresh and mold free as the day it baked! That is just not right, and I'm convinced that it is dangerous beyond our ability to imagine. No, I'm not selling soap and neither am I selling shampoo but I wanted you to see the natural soap/shampoo I use and challenge you to look at the plethora of chemicals that are in your soap, body wash and shampoo that you lather up with multiple times daily. Likewise look at the palate of chemicals that are in the food and drinks we consume each and every day. We can do better and it is time to demand those in all facets of the food manufacturing and processing businesses do better also. This story was posted on 2025-01-17 09:15:15
