Phillip Coffey -- Heel Hound

Heel hound of Portland running ever slower towards the hills of Keltner Ridge.
Still got his ever lowering pitched howl but no teeth to be found.
All in his head that he still 'got it' with the ladies
And his occupation of chasing the scent of Foxes but they never really ever being caught.

Long are gone the days of neighbors, kin and
Friends sitting by a campfire sharing tales
About which of their dogs is in the lead - echos
Of baying howls through the hollers through The ever darkening night.

But the "Heel hound' will have none of that
Quitting in his vocabulary.
Yet even he must retire as time and wounds
Of aging gets him in the end.
