Julie Gaskins, 54, Columbia, KY (1970-2024) Julie (Herman) Gaskins of Columbia passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY after a sudden illness. She was 54 years old. There will be a private service, with burial to follow in the Jones Chapel Cemetery. She was born in Buffalo, NY on June 29, 1970, to the late Robert Herman and Elizabeth Fuhrmann Partin of Columbia who survives. Ms. Gaskins was a Nurse Practitioner and went above and beyond when caring for her patients. All of them were very special to her. She enjoyed her animals, gardening, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her parents Dr. Beth and Dr. Gary Partin of Columbia, KY; two children Gabrielle Reagin (fiance Josh Wendry) of Columbia, KY and Nicholas Flener (Alisa) of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren Eli and Owen Reagin; her stepmother Kathy Herman of Buffalo, NY; five siblings Robert Herman (Renee Zobl), Dr. Michael Partin (Fiance Kathleen Cox), Jon Herman (Brenda), Peter Herman (Colleen) and Debbie Herman; a niece and nephews; longtime friend Jessica Henning; and several other friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Adair County Animal Shelter. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
