Laura Elizabeth Furkins, 23, Columbia, KY (2001-2024) Laura Elizabeth Furkins of Columbia passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at T. J. Health Columbia. She was 23 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. Burial will follow in the Furkins Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30amCT on Wednesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born in Campbellsville, KY on August 25, 2001, to the late Michael Landon Furkins and Mary Louise Pelston Furkins of Columbia who survives. Laura was a member of the Praise Assembly of God Church and a warrior that was loved by all that met her. She enjoyed playing with animals, doing artwork and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her mother Louise, she is survived by her twin brother Michael Furkins (Grace) of Columbia, KY; her stepfather Paul Anthony Thorpe, Sr. of Columbia; a stepbrother Paul Anthony Thorpe, Jr.; aunts and uncles Phil & Leona Akins, Walter & Marie Pelston, Larry & Carolyn Pelston, Pat & Dale Furkins, and Ronnie & Linda Pelston all of Columbia, KY and Bobby & Charlotte York of Russell Springs, KY; several cousins and other friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
