Linda and Chris Young joint funeral Monday Linda Sue Young, age 74, and her son Christopher Lynn Young, age 45, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, in Columbia as a result of an automibile accident. Their obituaries follow. Funeral services are 3pmCT Monday, October 28, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Bodie Emerson and Bro. Doug Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery. Visitation will be 10amCT Monday and continue until the time of services. Linda Sue Young, 74 Born December 4, 1949, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Collin and Christine Antle Hill. Linda worked as a registered nurse for many years at Russell County Hospital and was a member of Fairview Separate Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved dogs, Tahlia and Mackenzie. Survivors include two sons, Troy (and Jacquita) Young, Jamestown, and Mark (and Connie) Young, of Columbia. In addition to her parents and son, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Young. Christopher Lynn Young, 45 Christopher Lynn Young, age 45, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024, in Columbia with his mother, Linda. Born April 21, 1979, he was a son of the late Gene and Linda Hill Young. Chris worked as a welder. He enjoyed riding horses, watching westerns, and collecting UK and John Wayne memorabilia. Survivors include two brothers, Troy (and Jacquita) Young, Jamestown, and Mark (and Connie) Young, of Columbia. In addition to his mother, Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Gene Young.
