Rusty Emerson, 49, Casey County, KY

Russell "Rusty" L. Emerson, of Liberty, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at the Casey County Hospital. He was 49. He was born May 20, 1975, in Beech Grove, IN to Patricia Carol Atwood Emerson and the late Russell Emerson, Jr.

He worked in manufacturing. Rusty loved spending time with his children. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved baseball and was huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Michael Jordan.


He is preceded in death by his father, Russell Emerson, Jr.

Rusty is survived by his wife, Brittany Gray Emerson, whom he wed on March 5, 2005, of Liberty; his sons, Trenton Emerson, Ian Emerson and Trey Emerson, all of Liberty; his daughter, Alexis Emerson of Liberty; his mother, Patricia Carol Atwood Emerson of Liberty; his brothers, David Wethington of Liberty and John Wethington (and Crystal) of Indianapolis, IN; his sisters, Reda King, Susan Wilson (and Terry) and Lisa Hoover (and Joey), all of Liberty; his mother and father-in-law, J.R. and Denise Sheene of Liberty; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Hogue officiating.

Family may receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to assist the family in helping offset funeral expenses.
