Glen Akin, 83, Fairplay, KY (1941-2024)

Glen Akin of the Fairplay Community in Adair County passed away at his home on October 12, 2024. He was 83 years old.

The funeral service will be held at NoonCT on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Randy Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in the McClister Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 8pmCT on Tuesday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home.


He was born to the late Oris Guy and Dorothy Stotts Akin in Chance, Kentucky on April 4, 1941. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter: Talana Jessie and several brothers and sisters.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Word of Life Family Church and was a retired concrete worker and carpenter.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Ramona Akin
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Tom and Pennie Akin of Greensburg
  • One daughter: Tamara Akin of Columbia
  • One sister: Cathy Grant of Bowling Green.
  • 10 Grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
