W.D. Chaney, 68, Taylor County, KY (1956-2024)

W.D. Chaney, 68, of Taylor County, KY, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was born on July 12, 1956, in Taylor County, KY, to the late William Dennis Chaney and Ruth Odell Pepper Chaney.

Mr. Chaney had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Sand Lick Separate Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Jonathon Chaney; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Billy Wheeler; and his great-niece, Landon Ruth Meece. He is survived by his son, Josh Chaney of Greensburg, KY, his girlfriend Bobbie Desurne, and her son Keegan Halpin of Louisville, KY. Other survivors include his sister, Betty Gaines (David) of Frankfort, KY; his nieces, Amy Thompson (Daniel) of Lawrenceburg, KY, and Karen Meece (Ed) of Polson, MT; his great-nieces and nephews, Edison Meece (Melissa) of Spokane, WA, and Abby and Grace Thompson of Lawrenceburg, KY; cousins, Sara Henderson, Peggy and John Frank, Tommy and Sharon Pepper; and his special friend, Ellen Rogers. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, with Rev. Dannie Nelson and Rev. Cliffton Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Chaney Cemetery in Green County, KY.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pmCT on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, and after 7amCT on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 6pmCT on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, with all Master Masons requested to meet at the funeral home at 5:30pmCT.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Pepper, James Buck Henderson, David Eubank, Lyndell Pickett, Don Childers, and Joe Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of William B. Allen #704 F&AM Summersville Masonic Lodge, along with Mitchell Hudgins, Vic Elstone, Jeff Pepper, Leroy Burton, James Riley, Glen Burton, Jerry Woodall, Bill Kelly, Red Reynolds, Terry Hughes, Jim Christie, and Phillip Nunn.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Shriners Hospital for Children or the Home of the Innocent. These can be made at the funeral home.

Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of the arrangements.
