Kenneth Eugene Cook, Sr, 83, Green County, KY

Kenneth Eugene Cook, Sr. of the Fry Community was born June 24, 1941 to the late Ralph D Cook and Emma Adrian Creel Cook. He departed this life Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in Greensburg, having attained the age of eighty-three years and three months.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Fry Baptist Church. He was a Court Security Officer for the Green County Judicial Center. He was a retired veteran. He served in the United States Air Force for four years and the United States Army for sixteen years. While serving in the United States Army, he served two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver and Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm and a Purple Heart. He served in ECHO Company 65th Engineers 25th Infantry Division. He is a current member of the James L. Pruitt VFW Post 5813 Greensburg, KY, where he formerly served as Sr Vice Commander and Quartermaster.


Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Kay Riley Cook, November 23, 2020, his daughter Stacy Reynolds Cook, May 2, 2021, and by one brother: Max David Cook.

He is survived by seven children: Kenneth Eugene "Pete" Cook, JR, Cindy Cogswell, Bobby Cook and his wife Jo, Angie Cox and her husband Keith, all of Greensburg, David Cook and his wife Kass and Zachary Cook of Campbellsville, and Keith Eric Cook of Louisville, one brother: Dale Cook of Vermont, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service: Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, Greensburg, KY, 11amCT Monday, Sept. 30, 2024. Visitation: 9 until 11 Monday.

Ministers: Bro. Larry Wisdom and Bro. Jared Ervin officiating

Burial: Fry Cemetery

Pallbearers: Kenneth Eugene "Pete" Cook, JR, Bobby Cook, Keith Eric Cook, Keith Cox, David Cook, Zachary Cook and Bobby Cook, JR

Honorary Pallbearers: James L Pruitt VFW Post 5813 Members and Auxiliary Members

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to Fry Baptist Church and/ or James L Pruitt VFW Post 5813 Greensburg, KY. These can be made at the funeral home.
