Joshua C. Phipps, 38, Columbia, KY (1986-2024) Deputy Sheriff Joshua C. Phipps of Columbia passed away in the line of duty on Monday, September 16, 2024, in Russell Springs, KY. He was 38 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 3trees Church at 3515 KY-80 Russell Springs, KY, with cremation to follow the service. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10:30amCT until 2pmCT at 3trees church in Russell Springs. He was born in Lemoore, CA on September 6, 1986, to Donnie and Pam Phipps of Columbia, KY who survives. Deputy Phipps passed away doing what he loved, serving and protecting the community. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed shooting guns, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his parents Donnie and Pam Phipps of Columbia, KY; a sister Rachel Phipps Adams (Matt) of Russell Springs, KY; a nephew John William Adams; his maternal grandparents Lonnie and Brenda Lane of Columbia, KY; paternal grandfather Codell Phipps (Pat) of Columbia, KY; his beloved dog "Lizard"; several aunts, uncles, friends, and other relatives, including a special aunt Shannon Evans of Russell Springs, KY. He was preceded in death his paternal grandmother Loretta Mills. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences at stottsphelpsmcquearyfh.com.
