Linda Hicks, 78, Casey County, KY (1946-2024)

Linda Darlene Hicks, of Liberty, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at her home. She was 78.

Born on August 8, 1946, in Martinsville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Roy Sandusky and Sophie Reed Sandusky Gilmore. Linda enjoyed thrift shopping and going to garage sales. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids, especially on their trips to Gatlinburg.


She is survived by her husband, Glen Hicks, who she wed on July 3, 1963; a daughter, Cindy (Rick) Gilbert of Franklin, Indiana; two grandchildren, Heidi (Brandon) Burton and Austin Gilbert; three great-grandchildren, Briceton, Aubree, and Rory; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Glen Hicks.

A graveside service will be held at 2pmCT on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Whited Cemetery with Bro. Ed Parton officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the National Kidney Foundation at 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016-5337.
