Darlene Sulzer, 81, Columbia, KY native (1943-2024) Darlene (Patton) Sulzer of Louisville departed this world peacefully at home on Sunday, September 1, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 81 years old. In honor of Darlene's life and the joy she brought to those around her, a celebration mass will be held at 11:30amET on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Rd, Louisville, KY. This gathering will be a time for reflection, remembrance, and the sharing of cherished memories. A devoted wife, mother, and nana, Darlene's life was a testament to love, compassion, and family unity. Born on August 27, 1943, in Columbia, Kentucky, to Jack and Wanda (Gowen) Patton. Darlene brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved sister, Thomasine Terrance, and brother, Michael Patton, who will forever be cherished in her memory. Darlene leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted husband of 61 years, Richard Sulzer, and their daughters, Leslie Herald, Susan Sulzer, and Janice Hall. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, nurturing and doting on her grandchildren, Courtney Hall (Michael Lyons) and Gavin Hall, who will carry her spirit forward. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Hosparus of Louisville in Darlene's memory, supporting the compassionate work that aligns with her caring spirit.
