Ruby Chrystine Knauer, 89, Columbia, KY native (1934-2024) Ruby Chrystine (Powell) Knauer of Louisville, and formerly of Columbia, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Westport Place Health Campus in Louisville. She was 89 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pmCT on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with burial to follow in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:30pmCT until 2:30pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born in Columbia, KY on September 4, 1934, to the late George Hershel and Sallie Martha Cheatham Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband's Everett Inlow Knauer and Charles Edward Overcash, Sr. Mrs. Knauer was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include three children Michelle Lane Padgett (Dale) of Louisville, KY, Gregory Neal Knauer (DeAnna) of Duncanville, TX, and Kevin Scott Knauer of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren Amy E. Palmer (Brian), Carrie E. Dailey (Jason), K. Nicole Knauer, and Kimberly R. Knauer; six great grandchildren Georgia L. Dailey, Avery R. Dailey, Carson C. Dailey, Webb L. Palmer, Madelynn H. Dailey, and Reese J. Palmer; two sisters-in-law Sandra Powell of Greenville, IN and Jacqueline Powell of Louisville, KY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by two brothers Charles G. and Lynn Powell. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
