Ruth Durrett, 81, Green County, KY (1942-2024) Ruth Frances Wright Durrett of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Cecil Wright and Lillian Bennett Wright, was born on Wednesday, November 11, 1942 in Green County and departed this life on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was 81 years, 9 months, and 17 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired Summersville Postmaster having worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Green County Fair Board. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Darlene and Jack Henderson, Lana and Danny Bush all of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Casey and Chris Lay of Summersville, Emillee and Jonathan Whitlow of Greensburg, Corey and Michael Samples of Frankfort, Becca Bush of Greensburg, Colton Bush and his fiance, Courtney of Lexington; four great-grandchildren: Max Whitlow, Ellie Whitlow, Campbell Lay, Cooper Ruth Lay; two sisters: Barbara Beams of Magnolia, Celia Milby of Louisville; a sister-in-law: Juanita Wright of Campbellsville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Besides her parents, Ms. Durrett was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Carly Henderson; a brother: Ray Wright; a sister: Alsie Pickerell; and an infant brother: Harlan Wright. The funeral services for Ruth Frances Wright Durrett will be conducted at 12 Noon, Central Time, Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Mike Akridge and Bro. Kevin Brantley officiating. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Bengal Family Care Home which can be made at the funeral home.
