Harold McCoy, 77, Metcalfe County, KY (1947-2024) James Harold McCoy, age 77, formally of Summer Shade, KY, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born April 12, 1947, to the late Harold and Velma (Brown) McCoy. He was a member the Summer Shade Christian Church, but attended at the Seven Springs Church, in Node. He loved his church family so much. He enjoyed watching and attending his grandsons sports and taking them fishing and deer hunting. He was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, also serving one year in Vietnam. He served his country with pride. He retired from Scotty's Construction as a paver operator. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Doug McCoy; his sister, Wanda Barnett; and his brother, Glen McCoy. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggie McIntrye McCoy; daughter, Debbie Froggett (Michael) of Greensburg, KY; grandsons, Layton and Kohlter Froggett, of Greensburg, KY; and sister, Anita of Campbellsville, KY. Funeral services at the Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 1pm with Bro. Bryan Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in the Pickett Cemetery in Barren County with Military Honors provided by D.A.V. Chapter #20. Pallbearers: Jr. Barlow, Layton Froggett, Kohlter Froggett, Charles London, Rodney Jolly, Robbie Huff, Kevin Crain, and Brian Reece. Honorary pallbearers being, Chuck Gardner, Jason Poore, and Chad Shaw. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Doug McCoy Scholarship Fund at any Edmonton State Bank.
