Mackie L. (Tony) Baker, 86, Adair Co., KY native (1938-2024)

Mackie Lewis "Tony" Baker of Louisville passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. He was 86 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmET on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. Burial will follow at 2:30pmET on Tuesday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff.

Visitation will be from 11amET until 1pmET on Tuesday August 27, 2024, at Owen Funeral Home.


Tony was born in Adair Co. Kentucky on February 12, 1938, to the late Sylvia (McGinnis), and William "Bill Mac" Baker. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Shively Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Betty (Newton) Baker; brother, Darrel Baker, and sister, Barbara Scott.

Tony is survived by his brother, Jimmy Baker, (Alice) of Columbia, sister-in-law, Gayla Baker of Knifley and many nieces and nephews.
