Doug Smith, 67, Taylor County, KY (1956-2024)

James Douglas "Doug" Smith of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of Herman Junior Smith of Green County and the late Joyce Simpson Smith, was born on Tuesday, October 23, 1956 and departed this life on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 25 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. He worked for Fruit of Loom in the Bleach House for 22 years, Campbellsville Industries as a welder in the steel shop for 21 years, and he was a farmer.


He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Kaye Judd Smith of Campbellsville, having united in marriage on November 2, 1974.

Other survivors include a daughter: Jetona Kaye Milby of Louisville; two grandchildren: Wesley Choe Milby and Sumina Joy Milby both of Louisville, and their father: Garrett Milby of Summersville; a brother and sister-in-law: Michael Allen and Susan Smith of Campbellsville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral services will be conducted at 11amCT Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Brian Rafferty and Bro. Garrett Milby officiating.

Visitation is requested from 3 until 8 Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Thursday until time of the funeral service.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take form of donation to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
