Jo Ann Skipper, 81, Russell County, KY (1942-2024) JoAnn Skipper, 81, of Jamestown, KY, passed away on August 16, 2024. Born on November 6, 1942, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family and her career as a registered nurse, proudly obtaining her nursing degree and caring for others throughout her life. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including golf, cooking, gardening, and music ministry. She had a passion for Southern food and loved listening to the piano. In her leisure time, she also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and participating in bingo games. JoAnn was a devoted fan of television shows like "Blue Bloods," "Big Brother," "Survivor," and "Alone." JoAnn was a strong and determined individual, known for her unwavering faith as a devout Catholic. She found her favorite place in the world at home, surrounded by her loved ones. Her kindness, dedication, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family was her greatest joy, and she is survived by her loving husband, Wayne, and their four children: Greg (Rose), Gary (Margaret), Monica (Steve), and Kelley. JoAnn also cherished her seven grandchildren, Deena (Aaron), Justin, Dylan, Cole (Caitlyn), Lindsey, Elizabeth, and Michael, as well as three great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Cassian, and Eliana. She is further survived by her sister, Donna Gault. She is preceded in death by her parents Jeff and Nancy Durbin, three brothers Edward, Roy and Mark Durbin, three sisters Opal Gray, Edna Messer, and Rosemary Durbin. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday August 22, 11:30amCT at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Jamestown, KY with Father Johnson officiating. Public visitation will be held Thursday August 22, 9 to 11.
