Arnold Earl McGaha, 81, Adair County, KY (1942-2024)

Arnold Earl "Hambone" McGaha, 81, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024. He was born in Adair County, KY on May 28, 1942, to the late Virtus and Rosa Lee Burton McGaha.

He is of the Christian faith and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.


Survivors include his wife Brenda Burton McGaha of Columbia, KY; four children Gary McGaha (Marcy) of Louisville, KY, Keith McGaha of Columbia, KY, Kellie McGaha of Columbia, KY and Katie Stilts (Stephen) of Columbia, KY; three grandchildren Michelle McGaha of Louisville, KY, Elizabeth Smith (Josh) of Columbia, SC, and Jenna McGaha (Preston Cundiff) of Columbia, KY; a great grandson Hunter Douglas Smith; a brother Gerald McGaha (Margaret) of Louisville, KY and several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Wanda Louetta Rich McGaha and a brother Glenn McGaha.

Funeral services will be 11amCT Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Free Union Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8pm and will continue Saturday morning at the funeral home.

Bro. Jon Stilts will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Preston Cundiff, Dexter Mann, Allen McGowan, Ray Stilts, Arnie Robertson, Justin Todd. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael York, Bruce Lawless, Josh Smith, and Brian Tarter.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
