Ron Luttrell, 86, Russell County, KY (1938-2024) Ron Luttrell, 86 years old, of Russell Springs, passed away on April 2, 2024, surrounded by his family. Ron was born to Arnett and Thelma Holt Luttrell on February 19, 1938, in Russell Springs. He attended Russell County High School. In 1955, he began serving his country in the U.S. Navy. After two years of service, he married the love of his life, Oleda Emerson, where they completed his remaining duty time in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Somerset and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was an airplane pilot and loved flying and playing golf. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid UK sports fan. More than anything, Ron enjoyed being "Granddaddy" to his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Oleda Emerson Luttrell, of Russell Springs; his sons, Joey (and Robyn) Luttrell, of Zirconia, North Carolina, and Chris (and Jannette) Luttrell, of Somerset; his daughter, Judi Crabtree (and Buddy Whittamore), of Somerset; eight grandchildren, Katy (and Scott) Stafford, Ben (and Jenn) Luttrell, Tyler (and Bethany) Crabtree, Matt (and Sarah Beth) Crabtree, Cory (and Bri) Crabtree, Allison (and Jared) Weddle, Emily "Emmy" (and Josh Gangluff), and Nate Luttrell; sixteen great-grandchildren, Maddy (and Jared) Allen, Kenzy Stafford, Daisy Stafford, Joey Scott Stafford, Kelcey Luttrell, Brody Luttrell, Barrett Luttrell, Isaiah McCaffrey, Noah McCaffrey, Kelsey McCaffrey, Avery McCaffrey, Braxton Crabtree, Cameron Crabtree, Will Crabtree, Maggie Jane Crabtree, and Logan Weddle; and one great-great-grandchild, Atticus Allen. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Don Luttrell; his sister, Phyllis Burton; his granddaughter, Sarah Luttrell; and his great-grandson, Isaac Stafford. Funeral services are 1pmCT on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Pastor Kent Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 until time of service. Pallbearers will be Joe Mann, Jake Luttrell, Sammy Luttrell, Jeremy Burton, Adam Black, Brian Stephens, and Kevin Stephens.
