Charlene Stickel, 87, Taylor County, KY (1936-2024)

Charlene Turner Harmon Stickel of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Turner and Ruth Bowen Turner, was born December 22, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Campbellsville at age 87.

She was a compassionate, private caregiver for many people over the years. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Methodist Church in Campbellsville. Charlene loved having an animal companion and was always leaving food out for the stray cats in the neighborhood.


She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Harmon and Edward Ray Stickel.

Charlene is survived by three daughters and one son: Madonna (Greg) Chick, Jan (Frank) Farmer, and Marie (John) Coots of Campbellsville and David Harmon Ames of Brandenburg; six grandchildren: Logan Andrew Stickel, Magan Grubbs, Manessa Burris, Colt Burris, Daniel Gaddis II and Chad Gaddis; five step-grandchildren: Matt Chick, Jimmy Chick, Shannon Coots, Melissa Recalde and Aleaha Bright; three great-grandchildren; four nephews: Tony Ford, Tim Ford, Trent Ford and Lee Turner Hardin and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Eddie Stickel and two sisters, Shirley Ann Hardin and Jewel Dean Ford Sexton.

Celebration of life service 1pmET Monday, March 4, 2024 at Green River Lake State Park in Campbellsville. Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Taylor County SPCA and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
