Brenda Sue Brown, 77, Columbia, KY (1946-2024)

Brenda Sue Brown, 77, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Friday, February 23, 2024 at her home.

She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker, born December 19, 1946, in Blackey, Kentucky, to the late Ben and Virginia Hamilton Caudill.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mervil Leon Brown, a daughter, Susan Harrison, a son, Johnny Michael Sutton, a brother, Larry Ben Caudill and a sister, Gwen Caudill Simpson.

Survivors include:

Two daughters - Holly Brown Snyder (Chris) of Glasgow and Sonja Bell (Rick) of Edmonton

One brother - Tim Caudill of Blackey, Kentucky

One sister - Nancy Caudill Oaks of Blackey, Kentucky

Eight grandchildren - Joseph Harrison, Ginger Sutton, Dylan Snyder (Amanda), Lexie Robbins (Matt), Landyn Houchens (Dillon), Emma Snyder, Raylan Bell Twanna Abbott (Noah)

12 great-grandchildren - Noah, Riley, Trenton, Emilia, Brady, Addison, Keelan, Banks, Maylee, Lennix, Dawson, River and expecting #13, Christopher, in the near future

Her companion of over 20 years - Gary Burton of Campbellsville

Several other relatives and friends

Funeral service - Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 1pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Burial in Ragan Cemetery. Visitation after 4 Monday.

Casket Bearers: Tim Caudill, Chris Snyder, Rick Bell, Dylan Snyder, Matt Robbins, Dillon Houchens, Noah Cook

Honorary: Brady Snyder, Dawson Houchens, River Houchens, Banks Robbins
