The first Miss Lake Cumberland Pageant, 1973

From Doug Beard

The first Miss Lake Cumberland Pageant was held fifty-one years ago this spring, on Saturday night, April 14, 1973, in the V. P. Henry Auditorium at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia.

It was an official preliminary to the Miss America Pageant, and featured Miss Kentucky 1972 Carolyn Sue Walters, Miss Kentucky 1971 Robbie Lynn Halcomb, the Lindsey Wilson College Choir, and Miss Holly Spicer.

The winner was Brenda Brookshire from Lexington, KY. The only other person I remember is the lady on the left, Cynthia Parnell from Columbia.
