Hedgepath to be the next president of Wayland U

Dr. Donna Hedgepath, current Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Campbellsville University, has been chosen to become the 14th President of Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas, south of Amarillo.

She begins her new duties July 1, 2024.

"It is a tremendous privilege to be invited to lead Wayland Baptist University," Dr. Hedgepath said. "Using my experience, I am excited to lead the faculty and staff as we build on the excellent foundation."

The WBU Presidential Search Committee reported in December that the search for the next president included talented pool of more than 50 applicants.

Each candidate brought a wealth of experience, leadership, and vision that aligns with the values and goals of Wayland.

The presidential candidate chosen, Dr. Hedgepath, was said "to not only meet the high standards of our university, but also possess the passion and vision necessary to propel us into a new era of excellence."
