Annual Chamber banquet held at LWC June 6, 2023 The 2023 Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce banquet was held Tuesday, June 6th at Cranmer Dining Center on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College. Ellen Zornes, Executive Director, welcomed a crowd of just under 170 people to the annual event. The guest speaker was native son Barry Dunn, the President and CEO Kosair for Kids, introduced by longtime friend and Kosair board member Robert Flowers. His inspirational speech about how Kosair helps children all across Kentucky will be printed separately. The awards presented and the nominees for each category follow. Agriculturist of the Year -- nominees were Greg Burton, Caitlin Helm, Donna Jones Farmers Market, Dr. Shantila Rexroat, Brittany Smith and Vicky Pike. Business/Professional Man of the Year -- nominees were Dan Antle, Jacob Burton, Mike Curry, Ken Hill, Britt Jackson, Jeff Jessie, David Martin, Mike Neal and Joe Willis. Educator of the Year -- nominees were Jennifer Wright Carter, Julie Grant Cowan, Rebecca Cravens, Anthony Darnell, Tonya Feese, Jennifer Furkin, Gerald Hadley, Samantha Harrelson, Molly Miller, Chad Myers, Jenny Myers, Lisa Newell, Chad Parnell, Dr. Pam Stephens and Rachel Waggener. Business/Professional Woman of the Year -- nominees were Heather Bennett, Leanna Bennett, Lesha Breeding, Cassie Rogers Burton, Dr. Shantila Rexroat, Tammy Stotts, Cindy Turner, Linda Waggener and Amy Walker. Employee of the Year -- nominees were Gina Baker, Teresa Bright, Cassie Rogers Burton, Trista Burton, Crystal Caldwell, Randy Coomer, Rhonda Cox, Abe Cross, Andrea Feese, Sulayne Grider, Kimberly Irvin, Sarah Jessie, Annette Slaven and Vanessa Tucker. Business/Industry of the Year -- nominees were Columbia Magazine, 313 Maple Florist and Gifts, Columbia Pharmacy, Hot Prints, Reed Brothers Insurance, Rogers Trucking, Southern Nest Realty, Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, TJ Health and Trifecta Print. Outstanding Health Advocate -- nominees were Tamara Atwood, Stacey Biggs, Jacob Burton, Jennifer Wright Carter, Patricia Doolin, Emily Hill, Sandra Irvin, Britt Jackson, Matt Jackson, Dr. Sherry Jones, Lake Cumberland District Health Department, Karen Partin and TJ Health Columbia. Volunteer of the Year -- nominees were Gina Baker, Stacey Hatcher Bishop, Bobby Bowe, Angela Cowan, Krystal Cundiff, Robert Flowers, Michelle Furth, Richard Phelps, Mike Watson, Economic Development Authority and LWC Bonner Scholars.
