Doris Louise Rush, 89, Metcalfe County, KY (1934-2023) Doris Louise Mitchell Rush, 89 of Edmonton, KY passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023. She was a member of the Edmonton United Methodist Church where she was very active in several committees within the church, she was employed as a Dental Assistant and office manager for Dr. J.M. Hayes, Dr. Norman Gooch, and lastly Dr. John Miller, she was a charter member of the Barn Lot Theatre Board of Directors, and was President of the Republican Woman's and also the Chairperson of the Republican Party. Born on April 30, 1934 the daughter of Guy and Adele (Gassaway) Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Bobby Rush. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Rush & Steve Smith; granddaughter, Kelly Jones; step-grandchildren, Wesley Jones, Ashley Barnes, Abigail Smith, Adam Smith, and a special cousin, Frances Royse. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 1pmCT at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 5-8 at the funeral home and again on Wednesday after 8am until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to the Edmonton United Methodist Church or the New Liberty Cemetery Fund. This story was posted on 2023-06-05 23:55:44
