After her graduation from Russell Springs High School, she attended Bowling Green Business School where she earned her degree in bookkeeping. She and husband Hubert were married in November of 1954, and had two children, Mark and Maria.

She had a fulfilling career with the Lake Cumberland Area Development District, retiring in 1994. Much of her time after retirement was spent volunteering with a variety of organizations, including the Aging Council, Hospice of Lake Cumberland, and Russell County Hospital Auxiliary.

She devoted her life to her family and The Jamestown United Methodist Church. She had many roles within the church, ranging from Sunday School Teacher to pianist to treasurer.

Her commitment to the church was more than volunteering, though, as she considered the congregation to be her extended family.
