Royce McQueary, 78, Russell Springs, KY (1944-2023) Royce Ray McQueary of Russell Springs departed this life on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Fairoaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. He was 78 years old. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home, 391 E. Steve Wariner Dr., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Bobby Conner and Bro. Joe Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in the Russell Springs City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amCT until time of service on Friday, January 20, 2023. Royce Ray McQueary was born on June 15, 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Tina Flanagan McQueary, one son, Mark McQueary, one sister Vivian Eastham and a brother, Glenville McQueary. He is survived by one daughter Vickie (Dwight) Richards of Jamestown, two sons, Darrell (Janet) McQueary and Timothy McQueary and one daughter-in-law, Allison McQueary all of Russell Springs 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren survive along with three brothers, Ronald (Wanda) McQueary, Larry (LaDonna) McQueary and Jimmy (Jeanie) McQueary of Russell Springs as well as a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends who mourn his passing. Royce's favorite pastime when he was younger was showing his prized mules, and he won several local and state competitions with them over the years. He was a former Russell County Road Department employee having served as foreman and was a farmer. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.wfhrs.com.
