Basketball: LWC women face Tennessee pair this weekend The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team gears up for its second Tennessee road trip of the season this week, taking on Freed-Hardeman (TN) and Bethel (TN) on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Tipoff is slated for 5:30pmCT on Thursday and 1pmCT on Saturday. The Blue Raiders faced their toughest opponent on the season last outing, battling Top-Ranked Thomas More (Ky.) but coming up short 70-56. After a closely contested first-half, the Saints defense shut down the scoring output for LWC, leaving a lead too large to mount. Sophomore guard Amelia Hodges has been lighting it up in her last five outings, averaging 16.2 points per game while adding on 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game. Hodges sits just 22 points from crossing the 500 mark on her career. In the last contest, Lucy Patterson was two rebounds from her fifth double-double on the season, after posting back-to-back double-doubles in the St. Thomas Holiday Classic. She holds second place in the Mid-South Conference rebounds per game averaging 9.4 and ranks 13th in the conference in points per game with 12.6. Lindsey Wilson begins the trip in Henderson, Tenn. at Freed-Hardeman on Thursday evening. The Lady Lions (12-4, 7-4 MSC) enter after upsetting No. 24 Georgetown (Ky.) 61-60. Rachel Satterly ranks third in the conference in points per game, averaging 17.0 also slotting in at fourth in three-point percentage with 45.5. Her teammate KJ White comes in at 15th with 11.9 points per game also. Lindsey Wilson is 8-4 all-time against Freed-Hardeman, but is an even 3-3 in Henderson. Then, on Saturday, the Blue Raiders travel to McKenzie, Tenn. taking on the Bethel Wildcats. The Wildcats (7-10, 3-8 MSC) enter the contest after falling to (RV) Cumberlands (Ky.) 63-59, continuing their three game skid. Freshman Madison Hart is averaging 16.6 points per game, which places her in fourth for points per game in the Mid-South Conference, while also slotting in at fifth for field goal percentage. Bethel leads the all-time series against the Blue Raiders 7-11, but since 2011 it has been an even split of 4-4. Live Video and Stats will be available. This story was posted on 2023-01-12 12:44:11
