Cathy Murray, 50, Greensburg, KY (1972-2023)

Cathy Mechelle Underwood Murray of Greensburg departed this life on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at her home. She was 50 years old.

The funeral services for Cathy Underwood Murray will be conducted at 10amCT on Saturday, January 14, 2022 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Temperance Road, Greensburg, KY, with Bro. Cliffton Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from NoonCT until 8pmCT on Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and after 8amCT on Saturday at the Bethlehem Baptist Church until time of the funeral service.


Cathy Mechelle Underwood Murray, daughter of Michael T. Underwood and Brenda Hixon Underwood of Elkhorn, Kentucky was born on Sunday, February 27, 1972 in Taylor County.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was greenhouse manager for Central Farmers Supply and former owner and operator of Cobblestone Farms. She had amazing gifts of creating, gardening, artistry and was an inspiration to anyone who knew her.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband of 26 years, Shaun Murray of Greensburg, having united in marriage on December 14, 1996. To this union was born their son: Casen Murray of Greensburg.

Other survivors include a sister and brother-in-law: Stephanie Underwood Conn and Joey Conn of Columbia; grandmother: Ruby Hixon of Campbellsville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Rhonda and Terry Curry of Richmond; nieces and nephews: Dylan and Destiny Conn of Richmond, Dawson Conn and Dax Conn both of Columbia, Sara Beth and Will Catlett of Richmond, and Josh and JoAnn Curry of Corbin; great nieces and great-nephew: Jack, Tinley, Reese, and Elin; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cathy was also preceded in death by her grandparents: Ronald Hixon and Cleo and Blond Underwood.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Bethlehem Baptist Church Youth which can be made at the funeral home or the church.
