Marilyn Sue Martin, 61, Monticello, KY (1961-2022) Marilyn Sue "Susie" Martin of Monticello departed this life on Thursday, December 29, 2022. She was 61 years old. Funeral services will be held at 11amET on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel, 340 N Main St., Monticello, KY. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 5pmET until 8pmET in the funeral home chapel. Marilyn Sue, better known as "Susie" Martin of Monticello, Kentucky was born May 9, 1961. She was born in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of William Clyde Smith and the late Velma Reynolds Smith. She was united in marriage to Michael Martin and to this union, two children were born, Dustin Wayne and Jacob William Martin. Along with her husband, Michael Martin, she is survived by her father; William Clyde Smith, two sons; Dustin Wayne (Jennifer) Martin and Jacob William (Morgan) Martin, one sister; Patsy (Mike) Blevins, five grandchildren; Madison Ragan, Alex Martin, Harper Martin, Owen Martin, and Penelope Martin, two great grandchildren; Huston Ray Ragan and Hadleigh Ragan, and one great grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her mother; Velma Reynolds Smith and two sisters; Donna Loukes and Sherry Evans. Marilyn had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the Newtown Baptist Church. Hickey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
