Cycling: LWC 6th at Collegiate Track National Championship

Indianapolis, IN - The Lindsey Wilson College cycling team turned in a sixth-place finish at the Collegiate Track National Championship over the weekend.

The Blue Raiders accrued 599 total points at the championship. Colorado Mesa took home the team title with 992points. Marian (IN) finished second with 978 as Milligan (TN) claimed third with 797.


Mateo Marasass turned in a runner-up finish, the best by a Blue Raider at the event, in the men's match sprint. He later took seventh place in the men's one-kilo time trial.

Samantha Maldonado claimed 13th place in the women's scratch race while finishing in 17th point race.

The Lindsey Wilson women's team pursuit finished in fifth place. Madison Jackson, Julia Kwasnick, and Maldonado teamed up for the result. The Blue Raiders coed team sprint pairing of Jackson, Maldonado, Marasas, Jamie Quintanilla, and Grant Wilson claimed seventh place.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Sept. 17-18 when they host the Mountain Pike Race at Lindsey Wilson at the LWC Cycling Complex.
