Helen Ann Grider-Brumley, 82, Russell County, KY (1940-2022)

Helen Ann Grider-Brumley, of Russell Springs, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. She was 82 years of age.

Born April 13, 1940, in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Ruel and Mary Dowell Beck Grider. Helen was a former Vice President of Savings at First National Bank in Russell Springs. She also was a Longaberger Basket Dealer. Helen loved to bake for family and friends and was known to enjoy being able to "wheel and deal" with people, if the opportunity arose. She was a member of Jamestown Christian Church and she dearly loved her "church family." Helen was a pianist and organist for the church for over 65 years.



Survivors include two sons; Steven Karl (and Jan) Brumley, of Russell Springs, and Tyler Brent Brumley, of Jamestown; a daughter, Susan Brumley-Melton (and Jerry); a sister, Leontine Sullivan-Bihr (and Bill), of Russell Springs; two sisters-in-law; Wilma Grider, of Lexington, and Brenda Brumley, of Jamestown; a brother-in-law, Danny (and Carol) Brumley, of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Jordan Brumley, Jade Brumley, Hannah Brumley, and Anaston Brumley; one great- grandchild, Owen Reece Brumley; and special friends, Lisa Tarter and Rick Mann.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-three years, Ernest Brumley, who passed away May 6, 2022; and two brothers, Hollis Grider and Joe Bob Grider.

Funeral services are 1pmCT Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home. Bro. Bill Welker and Bro. Tony Stephens will be officiating the service, along with a written message from Bro. Jason "Bucky" Walters. Cremation rites will be honored following the service.

Visitation will be from 8am Saturday, until the time of services, at the funeral home.

Honorary pall bearers for Helen will be Judy Robertson, Desda Grider, Marilyn Roy, Cletta McKinney, Glenda Coffey, Bobbye Butler, Charlene Hale, Rose Walton, Greta Kircher, Brenda Pierce, Bonnie Welker, Bonnie McGaha, Glenna Bertram, Gail Wilson, Janet Wilkerson, Ruby Thomas, Alice Jane Sharp, Ruth Ann Gosser, Libby Ann Richards, Joyce Coffey, Kathryn Jones Hamm, Shirley Lawson, Esther Hadley, Ruth Hill, Betty Wheat, Scottie Weston, Tonya Womack, and Dr. LeeAnn Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Jamestown Christian Church Music Program, PO Box 97, Jamestown, KY, 42629, or to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY, 42503.
